Growing Together At Britannia Fields Playgroup

 

Our Intent.

 

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children.

Britannia Fields Playgroup intends to provide an open, friendly, happy, warm, secure stimulating environment where children are supported to develop at their own pace.

 

To nurture self confidence, self esteem and independence through providing access to quality adult interaction and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

 

Our Intention is:

  • To ensure all children feel safe, secure and happy giving them all the time and attention they all deserve.

  • To help all children to make the transition from their home to playgroup.

  • To provide a diverse environment where equal opportunities exist.

  • Build positive and nurturing relationships with parents/carers and work in partnership with them to provide continuity for the children and to support and advise them in the best way possible.

  • To keep parents informed of our policies and procedures, e.g. fees, opening times and future activities.

  • To keep parents updated with their child’s development and their next steps at any time.

 

Britannia Fields Playgroup is committed to implementing:

 

  • A rich, child-initiated play environment, where children can explore and experiment in their own way.

  • To ensure all areas support ‘British Values’ meeting the needs of every child socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically

  • An excellent team of experienced, well trained and properly supported practitioners. 

 

Britannia Fields Playgroups’ Impact:

 

When children have completed their learning journey within our setting the overall impact will be that every child will be socially, intellectually, emotionally and physically ready for their school life journey.

Arrival and Collection

Doors open at 9am. Please help your child to hang their coat on their named hook, and put their bag containing nappies (if they bring one) into the bag box in the corridor. Please inform the member of staff at the desk that your child is present, along with letting us know if your child will be collected by anyone different to usual. Please then help your child to find their name on the board, and help them to begin to play, or pass the care of your child to a member of staff who can help them to settle.

 

At the end of the session, the external doors are opened at 12.45/2.15pm collection. Parents and carers find their child’s coat and read any parent notices. The door to the main room is opened at collection time, please come into the main room to collect your child, who will be sitting in their Key Group.  Please collect any letters or work your child has produced by checking their named drawer.

Only persons authorised by parents on the Collection Authorisation Form may collect a child. Please remember to keep this form up to date, and let us know if anyone different from usual is collecting your child.

Nappy Changing Bags

If your child wears nappies please provide a small supply of nappies and wipes in a bag which is clearly named on the outside, and put this bag in the bag box in the corridor on arrival. Please do not put any medicines, food, sun cream, or other lotions in this bag, as these may pose a risk to other children who can access the bags.

Keeping us Informed
​

Please let us know of any changes at home, such as a change in family circumstances, or if a family member has a serious illness as this may have an impact on your child’s behaviour. If we are aware of the reasons, we can appropriately support your child. Please be reassured that such information is treated confidentially. Please also remember to tell us if your contact details change.

 

Our website contains newsletters and information about activities at playgroup. Please check the notice board at playgroup to see when new information has been added. We also have a closed group Facebook page where you can check information, reminders and events.

Sickness
​

Please keep children away from playgroup if they are suffering from vomiting and/or diarrhoea, until they have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours. If your child will be absent from playgroup due to sickness, please telephone us to let us know, thank you. If your child becomes unwell during the session we will contact you to collect them as soon as possible.
